Valentine’s Day is around the corner and we need some looks!
But if I’m honest, I’m so sick of seeing influencers give unrealistic “outfit ideas.” Personally, I don’t live in sunny California or tropical Miami where it’s warm in February.
I live in the Midwest, where February is one of the coldest months. With that being said, I have to style my outfits around the weather. There’s no room for bare legs and cute strappy heels.
And let’s be real, most girls aren’t opting to wear 6 inch heels to a Valentine’s Day dinner date. Though it may not look like it when scrolling down Instagram, Tiktok or your Pinterest feed, a lot of girlies are looking for realistic outfit inspo. Despite the hype surrounded around owning a bunch of designer clothes, most gals live normal lives with moderately priced clothing.
We need options, because there’s been a shift when it comes to Valentine’s Day as a whole.
Unlike influencers, many of us don’t have plans that include 5-star restaurants, hotels and getting engaged this Love Day. I want my outfit inspo to take that into consideration. Maybe you’re going on a first date, having a Galentine’s Day celebration with your homegirls or simply staying home and romancing yourself. Believe me, I’ve spent Valentine’s Day being the man of my dreams plenty of times. And if you want in on that, check out my blog post on How To Date Yourself.
Whatever the case may be, I created this realistic style guide for the girls, out of love. Because we deserve so much love!
