Who said the B in business casual had to stand for boring?
A lot of us are trading our sweatpants and pajamas in for trousers again. Some are headed back to the office in Spring 2023.
And while the idea of going back to the office is dreadful, our outfits don’t have to be. I go by the idea that if you look good, you feel good. And if you feel good, you can change your perspective about those looming feelings about your job. Trust me, I’m no stranger to feeling stuck at a job. Just read my post on being stuck in layover.
I know what it’s like to rummage through your closet just for a 1 hour client meeting.
Whether or not you’re going back to the office or you’ve been in the office, business casual doesn’t have to be hard.
Here’s 5 Business Casual Outfit Ideas to slay in the office this week.
Business Casual Outfits for Spring 2023
Patterned Vest + Trousers:
Black trousers/slacks are a staple piece to have in your closet, especially for the office. With that being said, having a pair that fit correctly is important. Anything too big makes you look frumpy and too tight shows panty lines, and that ain’t cute sis.
The sweater vest look is something that will be popular again this Spring/Summer. They were around in 2022, but I think they will really make a statement this season. Something about a sweater vest adds as easy touch of professionalism without trying. I love this one in particular because it’s Houndstooth pattern. Patterns and pops of color give you the opportunity to show your personality in your office style.

Bright Sweater + Trousers:
This look is easy for the days when you’re rushing out of the house. One of the reasons why having black trousers is a must, you can pair them with just about anything. I always love slacks and sweaters because it’s professional, but also simple. Pair your slacks with a cute sweater and you’re good to go.

Printed Trousers + Plain Top
I’ll let you in on a little secret: I cropped this turtleneck sweater myself. Because the leopard trousers are high-waisted, I thought the sweater would look better cropped. It gives the outfit a sleek and put together look.
I love the idea of printed trousers because they naturally add more flavor to your look. And this look is giving a little body-ody. It’s giving I’m professional and on time for work, but I’m also a good time on the weekends.
I don’t believe that you have to wear boring work clothes, even if your work environment isn’t a creative space. Of course, go with your own discretion!

Tunic + Leggings:
If you’re anything like me, by Thursday you just want something cozy and comfortable to wear. Because sweatpants aren’t exactly office approved, leggings are the next best thing. If you’re feeling extra risky, you can also pair your tunic with joggers. Been there, love that.
Although tunics give a professional look, they’re extra soft and just right for a long week. This is yet another easy outfit for the days you’re rushing out to grab your morning coffee before work. Pair it with some booties and it’ll give you a sleek look to go along with your slay.

Business Casual Friday
Nothing says casual Friday more than a blazer and jeans moment. Professional on top, but ready for a party on the bottom. Oversized blazers will never go out of style in my closet for this very reason. They’re so versatile because you can easily dress them up, down and all around. A lot of people opt for jeans and a hoodie on casual Fridays. But I think it’s the perfect day, if not the only day that you get to broadcast your personal style. Why be boring in a hoodie?
Since we’re going more casual, you can pair your blazer and jeans with a plain white shirt or bodysuit. Finish the look off with some heel booties because we’re happy at work, but we’re happier at happy hour!

[…] Joggers are probably the first thing that come to mind when thinking about streetstyle loungewear. They’re the easiest to get away with when it comes to merging your streetstyle and loungewear, mainly because of the tapered legs. The tapered leg on the joggers are easily paired with heels, boots and sneakers. It’s possible to wear them to work and no one would ever know. They truly come in handy on the days when you feel like wearing sweats to the office. For more on office looks, check out my post on How To Slay In Business Casual. […]
